KOREA 2019
WINTER 2019
19 members from our English Ministry volunteered to go to South Korea during the 2019 Christmas Season to serve Korean orphans, visiting hospitals, and distributing coal briquettes to local houses to keep the residents warm this season.
TESTIMONIES

This trip was one of my more memorable mission trips that I’ve been on. Being able to have a more personal relationship with the kids filled my heart a lot. To me, I forgot that we were working with orphans because they seemed more like family than anything. Although we didn’t do as much teaching of the gospel, I truly believe that through our actions the kids felt God’s love and care.

As my last mission trip before leaving for college, I came to Korea with a lot of doubts and worries about my general home-life, future, and spiritual health. Holding onto all of these things, I thought this trip would be mentally tough for me. However, my heart was immediately put to ease when I saw the beautiful faces of each child. From babies to teenagers my age, I was overwhelmed by the amount of love and support they had for one another. Despite their circumstances, they never complained and always remembered to show their gratitude. Through this trip, I learned to always keep a positive mindset and put God first. The children showed me how to truly love and make people feel loved. Coming back with the mission high, I struggle with adjusting back to my normal routine, but thinking about the children will always put a smile on my face.

This mission trip to Korea was like no other. Previous years, I was always asked to go to mission trips by my mom, but this year, I was the one who made the decision to go. I would say this was one of my proudest decisions of 2019. These kids taught me how to love harder, see things with an open mind, and forgive easily. I have never met such selfless, forgiving, and innocent kids before. Interacting with them for the week and getting to know more and more about each one of them everyday was truly a blessing.
This mission trip wouldn’t have been so successful if it weren’t for our team. Our Korea missions trip team felt like family and everything was possible because of the respect and closeness everyone had with one another. I would love to experience this again when the opportunity comes.

This mission trip really touched my heart deeply. The kids in Korea weren’t just excited for treats and gifts. They wanted genuine love and a real connection. Although the orphanage takes care of their needs, the kids also want to feel special and loved. It was an amazing experience being able to see the children and youth enjoy our games and quality time we had getting to know the kids. I’m not going to lie, it was difficult not being able to communicate with them because of my language barrier, but the youth were so welcoming and loving towards me it really touched me. They asked me questions and constantly made sure if I was warm enough while we were out in the cold. Those are the things I will never forget. The kindness and love that radiated despite their situation.
