As the first missions trip as the new English Ministry at THMC, Guatemala was a country that brought excitement and a sense of purpose to our community. The summer missions team was made up of 50+ members from both the Korean ministry and our EM members. This trip was a great chance for us to connect with the larger THMC family and share the love of Christ as a unified body.

I had my doubts about going to Guatemala, especially going with such a big group. We had about 60 people who went. Although there were a lot of gaps and small road bumps along the way, God made sure His will was always done. My biggest takeaway from Guatemala was the importance of prayer and group prayer. The days we prayed together as a group and the days we didn’t made a big difference in our attitudes, our work ethic, and our frustrations with things that didn’t work our way. At then end of the trip, I realized that no matter with or without us, God’s plan will always get done, but it’s so much cooler and more fun when you’re a part of it.
